This Thanksgiving season, we want to take time out to give thanks to God for all the provisions that He has made for us during our three years here in Belize. God has provided everything that we have needed through every circumstance and situation. We thank God that He has kept us safe and given us good health. We have not suffered any illness or injuries over the past three years. We have not once lacked anything that we needed. We also thank God that we are able to place our children and grand-daughter in His hands so that we don’t have to worry about them in our absence. We thank God for our families back home and for their support of our calling to Belize. We realize that it is not easy for them at times and they would prefer that we were at home with them but they have always supported us and encouraged us to follow God’s call. We thank God for our partners in ministry here, Jeff & Tiffany Boyles. They have been a blessing to us over the past year. They have become dear friends to us and we will miss them when they return to Alabama. Also, we thank God for the many people here in Belize that work along side of us, our Regional Chairman, Wayne Lopez and wife, Carla; fellow Pastors and church leaders whom we can call on for most anything and also for the Silk Grass congregation that we love dearly. Last but not least, we give thanks to God for all of you who receive this newsletter. If not for your obedience to God to give of your time, your resources and your finances, we could not fulfill our obligations here in Belize. Thank God for people who are willing to pray for us and this ministry, who are willing to give to support us and the ministry and for those who are willing to “Go” when God calls you. |

“We always thank God for all of you, remembering you constantly in our prayers. We recall, in the presence of our God and Father, your work of faith, labor of love, and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 1:2 - 3 |

“… open your eyes and look at the fields, for they are ready for harvest.” John 4:35
Here in Belize, we do not celebrate the American Thanksgiving Holiday but we do celebrate a time of “Harvest Thanksgiving”. During this time, we have special church services where we bring in the fruits of harvest and give thanks to God for his provisions through the harvest. These services are also used as a fund raiser. The fruits, vegetables, and breads that are brought in are sold and the money goes to the church. |

|
During the Harvest Thanksgiving Service at Silk Grass, each Sunday School class marched in with their gifts from Harvest and then several of the children shared verses of scripture. Our guest speaker was Pastor Alfred Ramsey, the newly appointed Pastor at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Independence. |

|
We spent Thanksgiving Day with our dear friends, Jeff, Tiffany and Anne Marie Boyles. Tiffany prepared ham and rolls and vegetables and Darlene prepared cornbread dressing with giblet gravy… so we enjoyed a pretty traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The only thing missing was of course family, but also football games and the parades on TV. |

Recently, we met with a representative from Belize Electric (BEL). He surveyed the property to determine the cost of running electricity out to area of construction. He gave us a rough estimate of $20,000BZ ($10,000US). We will pick up the official estimate from BEL next week. |

NOVEMBER EXPENSE REPORT |
|
Personal request: we would like to be able to purchase a laptop computer to make it easier to share presentations at school, various churches and during our times in the US (cost: $1100US). We are praying also about getting satellite Internet service at the camp. This would make it much easier for us to maintain our website, post our monthly newsletter and communicate with family and friends at home (cost: $1600US plus monthly fee of $60US). Other: Several of our Pastors need transportation. Pastors, such as our Chairman, Wayne Lopez lives in Dangriga but his church is in Pamona and he teaches school fulltime at Light of the Valley. He also has a wife and four children so it is difficult for him to be able to travel with the family. Also, Pastor Alfred Ramsey lives in a very large Village so it difficult to get around without a vehicle. Pastors like Katarino Pop in Punta Gorda need a scooter or car so he can go out to the remote villages. This is just to list a few pastors who are in need of transportation.
Our Pastors who live in areas that do not have land line phone service need an analog bag phone. We would like to collect several bag phones to provide these for the pastors who need them.
Some Pastors have mentioned the need for a computer. Alfred Ramsey from Mt. Zion Baptist church is in need of a computer. He would like to also get Bible software installed on it. Alfred is currently studying for his Ordination exam and he will be beginning Seminary in January. A computer would be very helpful.
Also, please continue to pray for the building projects. There is a great need for fundraising and people who are willing to labor to complete these projects.
